Uploading and validating documents

What ikan needs, what AIRA checks on every upload, and how to clear a flag fast.

How to upload

Drag and drop a file into the document vault, or use your phone camera. PDFs, photos and scans all work.

Each document is attached to the right family member — pick the person before you upload, or move it afterwards.

What AIRA validates

On every upload AIRA runs a pipeline: it extracts the key fields, validates them (passport expiry, visa coverage dates, apostille presence, name consistency), cross-references against your case requirements, and tells you the single next action.

If something is wrong — an expired passport, a missing page, a mismatched name — you see a clear flag with exactly what to fix, not a generic error.

Clearing a flag

Open the flagged document to see the reason. Replace the file or upload the missing page; the pipeline re-runs automatically and clears the flag when satisfied.

Still stuck? Ask AIRA on the page — it answers with your case context and can draft a note to your coordinator.
